ABA has around 800 volunteers across Australia who provide many of the Association’s services to mums. Volunteers are involved in local and national programs. Many give time to support mums via Helpline, LiveChat, perinatal education and our local groups.
In this session we will be discussing the types of volunteer opportunities available within the Association and what’s involved in volunteering with ABA.
Our sessions involve getting together to participate in a facilitated group chat on a particular topic. After a general welcome and introduction we will have around 15-20 minutes of formal discussion on the chosen topic, followed by informal social time and individual support with a breastfeeding counsellor. For attendees wanting to find out more on the topic, the facilitator can direct them to supporting ABA resources.
Participants are encouraged to share experiences, ask questions, and provide input!
This is a very relaxed meet up – it’s fine if you come late/leave early – we know what it’s like to be operating on baby time! Partners, expectant parents, friends, and children are welcome.
Our catch ups are held in the playgroup room - it's a safe space with plenty of play spaces, toys and books to keep kids of all ages entertained. There’s also great, affordable coffee and meals at the on-site community café.
