Introducing solids, or family foods, to a baby is an exciting time for parents, but also comes with a lot of worry as to the when, how and what to feed them. This is a big topic and we have a lot of information on our website, but in our discussion we’ll be looking at the main areas that parents have concerns about. We’ll start with the ‘when’ of introducing solids.
Our sessions involve getting together to participate in a facilitated group chat on a particular topic. After a general welcome and introduction we will have around 15-20 minutes of formal discussion on the chosen topic, followed by informal social time and individual support with a breastfeeding counsellor if needed.
Participants are encouraged to share experiences, ask questions, and provide input!
This is a very relaxed meet up – it’s fine if you come late/leave early – we know what it’s like to be operating on baby time! Partners, expectant parents, friends, and children are welcome.
Our catch ups are held in the playgroup room - it's a safe space with plenty of play areas, toys and books to keep kids of all ages entertained. There’s also great, affordable coffee and meals at the on-site community café.
