When we think of the festive season as parents, we think of holidays, family get-togethers, travelling, hot weather, parties, the beach. And when we have a baby, there’s a bit of extra planning involved with all of these. Today we are going to share some information and ideas about managing breastfeeding - in hot weather, when travelling, when visiting people, when celebrating, what to do about alcohol and coping with unwanted advice!
Our sessions involve getting together to participate in a facilitated group chat on a particular topic. After a general welcome and introduction we will have around 15-20 minutes of formal discussion on the chosen topic, followed by informal social time and individual support with a breastfeeding counsellor. For attendees wanting to find out more on the topic, our facilitator can direct you to supporting ABA resources.
Participants are encouraged to share experiences, ask questions, and provide input!
This is a very relaxed meet up – it’s fine if you come late/leave early – we know what it’s like to be operating on baby time! Partners, expectant parents, friends, and children are welcome.
Our catch ups are held in the playgroup room - it's a safe space with plenty of play spaces, toys and books to keep kids of all ages entertained. There’s also great, affordable coffee and meals at the on-site community café.
