Becoming a volunteer member is the first step towards supporting mums, parents and families as an ABA volunteer.

Volunteer membership is only available to those who are taking on a volunteer position with ABA. 

Volunteering in your local group

If you are taking on a volunteer role with your local group, such as group activities organiser, group communications facilitator or group treasurer, you need to have discussed this with a volunteer in your group before progressing.

Volunteering in an ABA working group

If you are joining a national ABA working group, you must have discussed this with the working group coordinator.

Becoming a volunteer breastfeeding counsellor or educator

If you intend on enrolling in the Certificate IV in Breastfeeding Education to become a breastfeeding counsellor or educator, you must have read the pre-course information and have contacted your local ABA group.

Complete the following form with your details and information about your volunteer position. When you submit the form, you will be taken to the 12 month volunteer member payment page.

For group roles or working group involvement, log in now and head to the Take on, change or leave a volunteer role form.

For the Certificate IV in Breastfeeding Education and volunteer traineeship, log in and begin your enrolment.

The Volunteer support coordinator will then contact you about the next steps to taking on your role.
The Volunteer support coordinator will follow up with your group about the payment and will notify you when this is organised. She will then direct you to the role inductions and help you get started.

Once your membership is processed, you will be contacted by the Certificate IV in Breastfeeding Education course coordinator about your next steps.
